Publish a Power Automate to SharePoint sites

Hi Guys,

Can you help me with the following scenario.

I have a SPO site which is saved as a template. In the site is a custom document library which has a simple publishing approval workflow assigned to it for document review.

I use PNP to template the site so that we can create new sites from this template, however I want the Power Automate to be available to all sites that I provision going forward.

How can I push a Power Automate out to new sites as part of the provisioning process, is this achievable through PNP or do I need to look at alternatives?

As it stands currently I would save the Power Automate via Save As - manually download it and add it to each site I create which I would like to ideally automate.

Many thanks

    Hi @STEVE-M365

Might be a case of sitting tight, the demo was just this Sunday.  If you try creating a flow with an invalid Site and Library name and call it from a button on your doc lib, you can see that the file name and site is passed via the body element in the output of that trigger.  For example:

And the output from a triggered run gives you:

    DamoBird365_2-1612985672420.png

So if you are keen, you might be able to disect it yourself.  I've not yet done it myself but I was very interested by the concept.

If you give it a go, please let me know how you get on.

That sounds like it could work 🙂

Is this demo available online so I can review myself - or is it a case of sitting tight until he updates his blog?

He might be about to update the blog.  He's posted about it here https://github.com/Eickhel/PowerAutomate-Samples and I saw a live demo at the weekend and was in awe.  Re-usable flows!!

    Hi,

I have just reviewed the article and it suggests that the solution no longer works and to stay tuned for updates?

    Hi,

Thank you for the quick reply - it will be a manual trigger so for when a document is ready for a review they would press a button to trigger it!

What is the PowerAutomate trigger?  If it's an instant flow have you considered the trick provided by Eikhel -> https://powernimbus.com/2020/09/reuse-flows-connected-to-sharepoint-lists

You can re-use the same flow across many sites and potentially run the flow from a button on a column using list formatting.
