WorkFlow - Outlook to new item in SP List

Posted on by 4
I built a new workflow in Power Automate today and it is not functioning.

When a New email arrives (V3) - include attachments
Create new item in SharePoint List

I do not have any required fields in the Sharepoint list and there is only one field set to default

I tested sending an email to the new email address.  I can see that it is going in to outlook... but it is not moving to the sharepoint list.

Help me troubleshoot!

Thank you!

Its is not possible to really help as you did not share your flow. Or pictures of anything :-(

Here is what I am hearing, you aren't getting any rows in sharepoint but you also don't think you are getting errors?

    1) go to the flows details page
    2) validate that it actually ran and didn't fail
    3) Open a flow run that you expected it to write to SharePoint
    4) go to the SharePoint Create Item action, and make sure it even ran, did you have conditions before it that made this step skipped?

If its a condition skipping issue you need to explain and show your flow so we can tell.

that or the flow is failing and you just haven't said that in which case share the Flow Run, in pictures, with errors and actions open etc etc.

    Thanks

Thank you for the reply.. I am providing additional information below.

I have an overarching question... Does the SharePoint Admin for our company need to enable a function in order for me to use Power Automate to create a new item in a list once an email has been received to a specific outlook inbox?

The flow I built is so simple... like no bells or whistles.

When I test.. I send the email.. but the test page continues to look for the workflow to work.  It doesn't show failed.. it just doesn't ever

Manual Test - Sent 2 emails.. and the test screen never moves away from this

No new line item added to the list... but the email is received in the established outlook box. I am looking for a test item that would've been dated 6/19/2025

I really need to see the Flow run itself, not the flow configuration, i mean thats nice.

But I mean I need to see exactly what you are doing, make a video please.

As for the text screen, you didnt' select anything (in that picture) so I wouldn't expect it to go away, you have to select Manually or auto and then click the proceeding continue / next buttons

I want to help but I really need to "see" the flow run itself. I dont mean go try to run it, I mean go to the Details page, click on a previously run, and show me that so I can see what steps did what.

Did you resolve this issue? If so can you share what you did?

    Hello,
currently, the flow would only be triggered if an email is sent to the connected mailbox “bto...” and is also addressed to the recipient you specified. However, if you want the flow to be triggered for all emails that arrive in the mailbox “415EBR...”, you must connect to this mailbox (-> change connection, Access authorization required). You can then delete the entry for the “To” field.

Please mark my answer as helpful if I was able to assist you further. Best regards, Haki
