Export Entire Outlook Mailbox to PST file

Hi All,

I'm wondering if it's possible to initiate a backup of an entire 365 mailbox to a PST file. Currently we do this directly from the 365 server using the built in backup tool.

Use case: When an employee leaves the company we backup their entire mailbox before deleting their account.

Was thinking this could be done with UI Flows but wondering if there's a way to do it via API.

Anyone have an ideas or experience with this?

Exporting an entire mailbox is currently not supported as a direct action in Power Automate. (You could export individual email though but still there is a limit on the number of emails that you can get using the get email action and export email action)

For Exporting your entire Outlook 365 Mailbox you can use two methods one is the e-Discovery method and another is the Office 365 Export tool. I checked both methods and they work. However, I you are not technical then I suggest going with the Office 365 Export tool which is easy to use.

There are various methods available to export Office 365 mailbox items to PST files. Most of the users prefer to use the eDiscovery method for exporting the entire Outlook mailbox to PST format. eDiscovery is an integrated feature of the Office 365 email provider. This method involves three phases which are as follows:
Assign the eDiscovery permission and check for the export role.
Create and Run a new Content Search.
Backup Office 365 mailbox to PST using eDiscovery.
It is a lengthy and complex process. Users having no prior technical knowledge face difficulties while performing this process. So, it is suggested to use a third-party tool for easy and secure migration of Office 365 emails.
