Getting email notification on new or updated calendar events - user is getting many alerts for existing events

We have group of people who want to have email alerts sent to them when a calendar event is created or updated (they have delegates adding appointments/changing appointments on their calendars). I have set one person up to test with the trigger when an event is created, updated, or deleted and set a condition not do anything on the deleted action, otherwise send an email notification with the action type and some details about the appointment.  The past few days they are getting a lot of emails for update actions - even though no one is adjusting any of these appointments (37 emails over the weekend when no one is working and changing anything). I changed the incoming days tracked and the previous days tracked to a shorter window to see if that helps, but they are still getting multiple alerts about events being updated.

Anyone have any insight or experience with this trigger and its behavior?

@jparis as always, a screenshot of your flow would help us try to identify where there might be a problem.

Flow failures are due to email rate limiting.

@jparis I set up  a copy of your flow and I am also getting multiple updates for the same new or amended calendar event so I think there must be something about the trigger that is polling the calendar regularly and comparing changes incorrectly. The rest of the flow is correct so it has to be the trigger and I don't have a solution for that at the moment.

Did you ever figure this out? The same thing is happening to me.
