Create Table in Excel when Sheet Name Changes

Hi,

I am trying to create a flow where I extract data from an excel sheet which is received daily by e-mail.

I have already create such flow with success but now I am facing a difficulty because the Excel file I receive daily has got a different sheet name everyday (today`s date) and therefore the  flow cannot create the table and consequently read from the table.

Is there a solution to this please ?

Since you don't show your flow, I don't know what you've done so far. Have you tried using the action Get worksheets?

If there is more than one sheet in the spreadsheet, but it is always the first or last sheet where you pull the data, you can use an expression to get the value:
    • Get the name of the first sheet: first(outputs('Get_worksheets')?['body/value'])?['name']
    • Get the name of the last sheet: last(outputs('Get_worksheets')?['body/value'])?['name']

    Hi again,

I am trying the Get Worksheets tool and is working fine, However in the next step I am trying to create a table from which I will read the data.

The create table step is giving me a ' Bad Request' error. ( as per screenshots)

Any idea what I am doing wrong please ?

    Hi again,

I managed to find a solution to this issue.

The issue was that the sheet name being a date (03-03-2024) couldn`t be used in the Create Table step because of the special charachters.

The solution was to either change the sheet name to Sheet1, for example, or either not using the sheet name at all since only one sheet was being used.

    Thanks for the help,
    William.
