Feedback Flow - Referring to a previously specified file

Good afternoon Flow community,

I've been tasked with creating a feedback flow and I've hit a hard block that is driving me insane.

So there's more I need to add to this to finish it, but my problem is:

The flow starts by manually selecting a file from a library in SharePoint, which sends an email containing a link to the file to the reviewer. That part works. But the next step I need to complete is to have an email sent back to the initiator when changes to the document have been made (so they know the flow has completed). But for the "When an item or a file is modified" action will not let me point back specifically to the file chosen at the beginning, so the completion email is not sending.

Any advice or insight to this is greatly appreciated. I thank you in advance for your time.

I understand what you're trying to achieve, but it'll not work with the additional trigger 'When an item or a file is modified'. That trigger will run with any update on any file in the library, so if you've got 10 running flows, a single file update will trigger all of them, and as you said, you can't connect it only to a specific file.

In your situation I'd replace the 1st 'Send an email' and the 'When an item or a file is modified' trigger with 'Start and wait for an approval' action with a single custom response. It'll pause the workflow until the action is completed and it'll send a nice email to the reviewer where he can even directly enter some comments. After he clicks the button in email, the flow will continue and send notification to the initiator.

Of course you could also use the 'on update' trigger, but then it would have to be a separate flow that would run on each update on each file and somehow recognize that the specific file that was just updated was updated because it's in the review process, and that would make the flow quite complex to manage all potential situations with some field/flag values.
