How to call flow from the Email

Hi Team,

I have created flow on list on "For a selected item". It is showing on item level under the Automate menu when click on three dots on specific item. It is working fine.

I want that flow needs to be call from email for the specific item which I am sending email for approval with "start and wait for an approval". It is something related like Delegation.

Can I call that flow through email with specific approval/item?

    Hi @EV_hspatil31 ,

The answer is no. But honestly, I cannot understand the logic based on your words. What are you going to approve in the Approval action? If you know the item ID, you can easily use Get item action basing off the ID value to connect to the specific SP list item.

    Hi,

I have created flow (XYZ) on SP list with "For a selected item" action. It is showing on item level under the Automate menu when click on three dots on specific item. Flow (XYZ) is getting trigger manually from the Automate menu.

Now I want to open that Flow Input form from the email. Means Can I get the URL of that flow and pass the list item id and it will trigger for that specific item. Is is possible?

    Hi @hspatil ,

No, instant flow cannot be interacted from outside of the flow. I still don't understand your logic. If you want to send an email for approval for a new item, you can use the automated trigger "When an item is created", or use "When an item is modified properties only" for a recent modified item. You can get all the info of that item from the trigger.

    Hi @hspatil,

Can you put the sanitised/company data cleared flow down, and annotate it.  I also don't understand what you are trying to achieve.

    thanks

    paul

Create a manually triggered flow and give the users who need to run the flow run only permissions. Then you can embed the link to run the flow within the e-mail. You would use the link to the details screen of your flow, and replace /details at the end of the flow with /run instead. Note, all the users will need to have the appropriate access and licensing to run the flow.
