Problem Entering Data in Dynamics 365

I am trying to use PAD to enter data in a field in D365.  This is dealt with here: Solved: Re: Power Automate desktop app > Web Page > popula... - Power Platform Community (microsoft.com) but the solution does no work for me and the thread seems to have gone cold.

I would expect to:

Either

1. Populate Text Field on Webpage - in this case just a very simple number 1

Or:

1. Focus text field on a web page.

2. Send keys

but it seems to delete the text after entering it.

Either there is a missing step (mouse click) or I am missing something in the text I am entering.

Any ideas where I am going wrong?

Thanks

Ged

    Try a mouse click anywhere (center of the screen), so if you are 1920 x 1080 resolution, that would be a mouse click at (960, 540).

    Do this after Send Keys and see if it still disappears.

    Hi @MichaelAnnis ..thanks.

    MouseClick2.PNG

    No luck, I am afraid: MouseClick.PNG

    I think I have tried every config option of 'Populate Text' ie emulate typing/not emulate etc.

    Any more ideas?

    It is a form.  Can you tab through it and enter that way?

    ex.
    Send Keys {Tab}{Tab}{Tab}
    Send Keys %InputToField1%
    Send Keys {Tab}
    Send Keys %InputToField2%

    Thanks @MichaelAnnis ..but I am not sure that even this works reliably...it still encounters the same underlying problem that we haven't trapped..what is causing the exiting of the field without persisting the data.

    Also...tabbing from one field to another seems frustratingly imprecise given the specific commands that are available, don't you think?

    I just think that since this seems to be a known issue, and since the issue of interacting with complex web browsers is surely part of the core challenge of RPA web automation...there would be an elegant fix for this?
