Hello,

i am new in use of Power Automate Desktop.

 

I see that this tool, before it was called winautomation.

 

I would like to know if is it possible in Power Automate Desktop, use trigger, that i dont' see in tool, but only in Power Automate cloud version, and those were available in Winautomation.

 

Can you explain me better the situation about licensing ?

 

Winautomation is no longer available ?

    Hi,

    Microsoft bought Winautomation (Softomotive) in last year as I remember, and Winautomation is still there but it is now replaced with Power Automate Desktop (PAD) and you have the option to migrate the process from Winautomation to PAD. Process migrator for Softomotive products (preview) 

     

    Yes, you don't have any options for triggering in PAD, you have to manage that from Power Automate Cloud.

     

    Please refer here for more information about licenses. Explore Power Automate plans 

    Basically, you have to have a license for attended robot first and then if you want to use it as unattended robot, then you have to buy an add-on. You should contact MS sales partner for more details.

    thank you for your answer.

     

    I think that to not have an full "on  premise solution", is a strong limitation (WinAutomation it was a full on premise solution).

     

    Then, i would like to know in which cases, i can use the different modalities of Power Automate:

     

    • Power Automate Desktop
    • Selenium Ide
    • Windows Recorder

     

    When to use one instead of the other?
