Adaptive card reminder link

Hi,

There is one part missing for me to complete my flow, which is including a link to the adaptive card in the reminder email.

The messageLink appears in the branch with the adaptive card, but not in the reminder branch. Is there a way to resolve this?

Yes, that is by design. You cannot reference outputs of the other branch.

What is the reason/requirement why you have introduced the left branch? Can you explain in a bit more detail what the actions in the left branch are doing? Based on this we might have a suggestion on how to solve this challenge.

You could probably create a string variable to store the link to the adaptive card. You should then be able to use the variable in the left side of your parallel branch as long as you generate the variable prior to the branch.

    Thanks for your response @Expiscornovus

We have an issue with users not completing the adaptive cards and are therefore attempting to introduce weekly reminders to prompt completion of the adaptive cards.

    Thanks

    Thanks David MA.

I did attempt this, but it appears that the variable is not updated whilst the adaptive card is awaiting a response. Unless I got it wrong when troubleshooting.

    Thanks

Based on what you have shared you might be able to workaround this by using a Create an Approval and Dataverse instead. You can use the adaptive card json of that action in a Teams message as well.

This way you don't have to wait until the user has responded. Additional benefit is that you can workaround the 30 day limit and the reminders can also be a daily scheduled flow.

An example of such a schedule flow can be found over here:

However, this design would require a second flow to handle to responses though, you can use a Dataverse trigger (When a row is added, modified or deleted) for that second part.

Have a look at this blog for that:
