form control not allowing edit of primary key

I have a sql table with a primary key set as GUID datatype.

I can add new rows using the patch() command, but the 'form' control does not allow the primary key to be edited. If I try to commit it gives me an error.

I only have the option of View Text

why would this be?

    I found a workaround;

    If I add a field that does allow editing, then change its properties to the ID guid primary key, it will let me commit a new row.

    but adding the primary key as a field forces the edit form to be view only for that field.

    You can see below that the top field lets me edit the PK.

    And the field below is view only.
