I have a flow thart run from a general service account, and i need to send emails from the user who created the list item. So i add the users who are created items in exchange the rights to Send as and Send on Behalf for this service account. Unfortunately it;s not working i received this message when i try to run the flow.

You are not authorized to send mail on behalf of the specified sending account.

    Hi  @ciprianpopovici :

As the error says "You are not authorized to send mail on behalf of the specified sending account". The point is that ‘if you want to send emails as someone then you need 'Send As' and 'Send on behalf' permission for this email address’.

Suppose the connection in "Send an email (V2)" is of Bof777. And you need to send email on behalf of Test2.

Bof777 should should have 'Send on behalf' and 'Send as' permission on Test2 Mailbox.

    Steps :

    Go To exchange Admin Center

Click on MailBoxes from the left navigation

    vbofengmsft_4-1645409469537.png

Click on the Test2 (it will open Test2 Mailbox settings in callout menu)

    click on Manage mailbox delegation

    vbofengmsft_5-1645409556751.png

Click on Edit for the 'Send as' and 'Send on behalf' permissions

    vbofengmsft_3-1645409418173.png

    Add the Bof777 here.
Once these settings are configured, Bof777 will have permissions to send email on behalf of Test2

    Best Regards,

    Bof

Yeah, v-bofeng's answer is stupid AF.

So I have an app that multiple people are supposed to use.

This app can send an email via a Flow.

The Flow can be shared to other users and groups, which is supposed to implicitly grant permissions for the mailbox (mailbox connected to "Send an Email (V2)" ).

BUT even though the users have full access to the app and the Flow, the mailbox connection still have to have permission shared explicitly to them via Exchange? Effing seriously?

Keep in mind that when you manage mailbox permissions, you cannot give access to members of a group. You have to give access to each individual user.

So if your tenant is 5,000 users who all need to use the app, better get clickin.

This is broken functionality and Microsoft needs to do better for what they charge for this crap.
