Dear all,
As per subject. How do I publish the flow to SharePoint? I just started to learn Power Automate for 3 days.
Type: Approval flow.
Objectively: The user can go to SharePoint to raise a request to whitelist the particular email domain. IT dept will receive the Email notification.
Please see the below attached. The flow I created name is "Approval flow for test".
I will need your kind advice on this.
Thank you.
Hi @v-chenzhi
Can I check with you, do you know what triggers the approval power automate send duplicate approval to the approver?
Quite strange, because sometimes happen only. Is not all the time.
The two red colour arrows, please see the below.
Grateful if you can provide some advice. Thank you. 😉
By the way, do you know how to turn off the Teams notification? 😅
When a new item is created, the user first will receive the notification in Teams then later will receive the email.
Is it possible can make it only one notification?
Hi @v-chenzhi ,
Thank you for all the advice with the pic guide, very helpful and very appreciate.
End up I didn't add the send email component into the flow.
Reason: Trying to simplify the flow, follow your pic guide set up the share point update status, this looks good enough. I will have a discussion with my team tomorrow.
Please see the below attached. 😃
Hi @Sk-73 ,
We can update item and then send the email.
By the way, if the line manager rejects the first approval, we also need to update the status to rejected.
If the result is approved, it will be updated as approved, otherwise it will be rejected.
Best Regards,
Zhi Chen
Hi Chen Zhi,
Let me add on and explain the error I encounter now.
So, I add the Outlook component and choose to Send an email (V2) to the as I mentioned in the last reply red color arrow area.
What happens when I run the test.
The first approval was sent to the line manager, then after the line manager approved, it will auto send the 2nd approval to the senior manager, after the senior manager approved the next is fall into the "No" area and trigger send the rejected email to the user.😂
If the send an email succeeds, then I want to add the Share Point component "Update item" I'm not sure if this is correct, or I should add "Share Point update item first" then only send an email to inform the requester?
Hi Chen Zhi,
Thank you very much for your kind assistance. The first time I follow your pic guide created the flow from my end, the condition got an error. Is ok, I will try again then update you.
Can I check with you, please see the below attached.
I'd like to know, how can we add send an email to the arrow pointing there instead of compose?
Thank you. 😉
Hi @Sk-73 ,
Do you have three columns type of Person in SharePoint?
Do you want Line manager and Senior Manager to sequential approval?
How to update the status, we can use update item action.
I have a test for your reference, please try the following workaround.
I have this in SharePoint.
Here is the flow.
After both approvals are passed, the status is updated to approved
Best Regards,

Hi Chen Zhi,
I'd like to share more about the current flow error.
Hi Chen Zhi,
Sure. here is my share point list.
For ur Q2.
In this case, it should be considered to add a new item, I guess?
Q3
Save the record after filling up the request form in Share Point.
Q4
Ideally, the default status is In progress, and after the line manager and the senior manager approve the request, the status will update to Approved.
My problem now is
1. I've managed to use the default template archive to send the approval to the line manager and the senior manager. Two managers already approved the request but the status still shows In progress. I tried to add Share Point in Power Automater but the flow is failed. Wondering to know how to makes it auto-update the status via Power Automate.
2. How to add send an email to the requester in Power Automate? I tried this way, for some reason, it doesn't work as expected.
Will be grateful for any help you can provide.
Sk73
Hi @Sk-73
May I ask you some questions?
1. If possible, Could you please show me your SharePoint list?
2. What does "user raise a ticket in Share Point" mean, add a new record in SharePoint?
3. What does 'After the user submits the form' mean, save the record or submit form in APPs?
4. Is "Default Status" a Choice column in SP?
Best Regards,
Zhi Chen
