Hi,

Is there a way to extract text from PDF with OCR?

I need to extract a specific text from an image that is inside a PDF.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Check out AI Builder as you can not only use OCR but use forms processing to extract tabular data. Check this out here.

You can try it in two steps:
1. 'Extract images from pdf' to retrieve the image you want
2. Then use 'Extract text with OCR'

Hi,
Thanks for your answer. I've tried it already but no luck, since I need to extract the symbol in green:

All images are extracted except this symbol.

And when I extract text from the PDF from that symbol I get "".

Any workaround?

Which model did you try for the symbol?

Did you use text recognition model here? Sorry, I didn't read you text in image comment and sent you a link for forms.

The Azure website used to have the ability for you to upload images to test it out but looks like its been removed. Here is the Azure link and the AI Builder model should be similar.

Tried a bunch for this, though since I only had the little image you've uploaded, nothing has worked so far in terms of OCR at any image width, color, zoom, etc. try flipping the colour of the image on your side via paint to make the B- black, (right click edit image, right click flip colours) just to test that out, maybe that'll work for you specifically? Otherwise you will indeed need AI Builder or Azure Image Recognition.
