I have a flow that will trigger when I test it on my own account and will trigger when I send the user an email from my account to her, but it will not trigger when she receives the email from the user it needs to trigger for (the time when we actually need it to trigger). The flow in question:
- Checks my users inbox for emails from a particular person and for a certain subject (the subject is static/never changes).
- If the email is found, a condition runs to filter out images titled 'image00'. This is to strip out signature block images.
- Any remaining attachments are stored in SharePoint
I first tested this sending emails from a generic email account to myself. Flow worked great. Next I got a copy of the exact email that needs to be filtered and sent that from the generic email account to me. Again, flow works great. Finally, I set up the flow for the user and sent the email (the email that is exactly what we need to filter) from my generic account to her and watched the flow work. The only time the flow does NOT work is when the email comes from the person it needs to be triggering for.
The only difference I've found between the emails they send vs the ones Ive tested with are that they include many more people (30+ recipients), but Im not sure if that could cause issues with the flow.
Any help would be great as Im about out of ideas.
The first email I used to test the flow was a basic, text only email. After that though, I've been using a forwarded copy (with attachments) of the actual email we are looking to filter.
Delegate I don't believe is an issue as when this is set up for the user, we're create the power automate on her own account. I configured and tested it on mine, then shared it to her and we changed 2 values for her to use it.. those values being who the email would trigger from and where the attachments share to.
File size probably isn't the culprit as we're saving an attached pdf to SharePoint. They are roughly the same size each week and it works when sent from other sources, just not from this one user.
Im considering reaching out to the person who sends this email and see if they will work with me to troubleshoot, but a bit hesitant as this is someone higher up in the company and one recipient out of the 30+ he sends to wants this done. It's not exactly high priority for him, but it is an option to consider.
Hi,
the email you send is it in plain format or html check against theirs.
do you have delegate permission to the mailbox to send emails.
check image file size is not over limit.
could ask them to try and send to one recipient to see if it is the 30
create an email dl for the30 if individual emails work.
