Dropdown within Gallery, Default property not setting correctly

Hello everyone, so I have a gallery that has a dropdown, these dropdowns are answers.

The gallery is reading off of a sharepoint list with the questions and answers, so I want to make the default property of the dropdown the answers, however, this is what I get:

I put to the left the answers accordingly, as you can see those two questions were the only ones answered, while the others were left in blank, so the dropdown should've been blank as well.
Then when I delete the default property for the dropdown and put Thisitem.Answers again, it fixes itself:

So that is what it is supposed to be originally, but it is not working in that manner, any help here? Thanks!!

Hi @Angel5 ,

This may help you: first determine if the answer is blank, if it is blank then fill in the blank, and return "ThisItem.Answers" if it is not.
I am assuming that you are using SP list and the Answers column is text type.
Please try this:
1.Allow empty selection of drop down:

2.Default of drop down:
If(IsBlank(ThisItem.Answers),"",ThisItem.Answers)
