Create Item in Automate ignores populating a column in my SP List

Hi,

I have a flow in Automate that gets Items from a SP list and Create Item in another SP List.

Unfortunatley I don't understand why it cannot populate the column called NAME . Like other columns, 'NAME'  is a Single Text Line type in both lists.

The results after running (I've covered the text tht cannot be public)  :

Can someone help me please ?

Thanks

    Hi @Carmen15,

Can you double check that you see the value in the NAME column in the outputs of the Get itemsSuccAndComms action?

    Hi @Carmen15,

Thanks for checking the outputs. I assume there is only one item returned in that response you shared?

Have you also tried just typing a text value in the NAME column of the Create Item action? Just to troubleshoot if the NAME column works at all?

Lastly, you have only one NAME column in your Dynamic content list. Or do you have two NAME columns? In that case make sure you select the right one.

@Expiscornovus  I beleive the field is not working at all.

I wrote a name in Create Item :

Run the flow and the name I wrote appears in the outputs:

But when checking in SP is not there 😞

I don't understand why?? The column called NAME is the same as others; nothing different.

    Thank you!

    Hi @Carmen15,

Maybe it is a different column which has the same display name? Can you check in the list settings of the VisualManagementArchive list which columns are available.

Have you also tried removing the create item action and adding it back again to your flow. Sometimes that is also useful to clean up old references to renamed/deleted fields.

I think you should do a couple of things to trouble shoot.

First - delete all of those steps from your flow. Preferably literally delete the entire flow and make a new one. Then recreate the steps fresh without changing the names of any of the actions (Like leave the name as Apply to Each or Get Items). And don't use any copy and paste actions from clipboard.

Then run the flow and see if it works.

Sometimes if the actions get changed a lot and other things are changed in the list, then power automate can mess up the reference.

Second - Delete the entire "VisualManagementArchive" list and recreate it column by column, do not create a copy from the other list. (Please do something about the generic naming, literally just posted this.)

If you created the list as a copy from the other list then the field GUID will be the same for both which is probably causing some confusion in power automate. Like it is probably trying to post it's own value of empty into the column or something.

Do those two actions in order and let me know if it is still broken.

Please make a better column not called "NAME" which is so generic I wouldn't be surprised if that is confusing power automate. Same with renaming the Apply to each as "Create". (Even though I literally just did this in two lists and tested successfully.)

    Thank you for your replies!!!

In the end I deleted the SP List and the flow and recreated both. Now it works.

Probably sue some changes in the SP List , Pow Automate got confused or something like that.

    Thank you!!!!
