Separate Automatic Sequence number in Power Automate for multiple selections

Flow <>  MS form>get response details>2 options (slot A and slot B)>for any selection an email to send to the user with sequence numbering for each options separately.  ie. Slot A and Slot B should have separate sequence.

I tried initializing variable, then used switch, case 1 - slot A. incremented variable, compose action and send as an email.

but the number is unchanged in email everytime I run the flow.

please help.

    Hi @Kingfisher1

I got some idea around your flow, still some doubts are left, could you explain the flow with screenshots so that i can help in resolving the issue ?

MS forms - get response details - user to select from 3 options - initialized variable for 3 options.  then created switch.  incremented variable for each selection under each case, saved in excel, compose for the value from excel to put in email

    Hi @Kingfisher1

how the number should be changed ?

From your flow, it seems like there won't be any change as you are using the same number which is initialized as a variable at start of the flow 🙂

you are correct. number is not changing.  I wanted continuing number sequence separate for each options.  eg. if user selects A, number starts from 1, second user for option A to get number 2 and so on.  If option B is selected by the 3rd user, then it should be number 1 because its a different slot.  So different number sequence for each options.

    Hi @Kingfisher1

Then you have to include which saves the number in excel so that next time when a user select same option flow should read the same excel cell and increment the value and update the row again and send the email with updated number 🙂

    Hope this logic helps !

Are you able to expand out the actions within a couple of the Cases? Just wondering what the differences with what you are doing in the first case vs. the second case. For the sequences, I'd probably have a SharePoint list that contained a row for each of the choices with Title being the name of the Choice and a Number column with the current sequence number for that choice.

Thanks all.  I did a different workaround, then I figured out the problem in this flow.  Actually I was not giving a 'get a row' action to retrieve the saved incremented variable.  other approach I took was to create 3 tables in excel for each options, a column for sequence number wherein I put an excel formula as and when a value appear in the option value column, a sequence number appear.  this is then pulled to compose and then to send an email.
