Hello!

Does anyone know if it's possible to set a trigger condition on a Power Automate flow to look for when a Comment has been left on the out of the box commenting functionality in SharePoint?

I ideally don't want this flow to run with every modification (as it will run hundreds of times!) and use the Get Changes step if I can help it!

Hi @RM-30040732-0,

Triggering a flow based on Sharepoint comment is not available out of the box,

However here is a custom solution for this approach:

1. Create Scheduled Flow: You can build a custom Power Automate flow that runs on a schedule (e.g., every 5 minutes).

2. Use the "Send an HTTP request to SharePoint" action with the SharePoint REST API to retrieve comments for items. (Sharepoint API documentation)
3. Compare the current comments against previously recorded comments (perhaps stored in another list or a variable) to identify new ones.
4. Trigger the desired actions (like sending an email or Teams notification) only for the new comments.

As @fatiu has mentioned, there is no trigger available for when a new comment is added.
