Hi,

I am planning to build a Gantt style task planner in power apps for a team of technicians that are based on a shift work pattern.

At the moment I have a excel planning sheet with formulas to calculate how many hours per day I can allocate to tasks , if the technician is on vacation or sick the hours are reduced.

We are using a separate excel sheet as a holiday tracker, so if a holiday is taken, I currently have to manually update the excel planning sheet.

I want to create a new holiday tracker that will link to my new Gantt style task planner in power apps.

What would be the best datasource to use for the holiday tracker? Excel, sharepoint or dataverse?

If you have the choice, the data source question is easy: Dataverse has the most capability so use that when you can.

Power Apps doesn't have a Gantt type of control, but others have built views like this using galleries. Before you go too far, have a search for "Gantt chart Power Apps" to get some ideas/inspiration for how to build that view.

Thanks, I have the choice so I'll go with dataverse, I hoping to replace the following

the available hours will be reduced if vacation or sick day is submitted
and the remaining hours will be reduced when a task duration in entered into the cell.

Do you think this is possible and any advise will be welcomed , thanks.
