Hi
I'd like to use SQL on premise or CDS, we have an Office 365 E3 licence. I cant seem to use the on premise SQL because it tells me I dont have the correct licence to use a gateway. The CDS is useable but when I try to use the Flow actions it says Premium next to the options I need and wont let me use it.
Are the features I would like not available under this licence or am I missing something?
Thanks
Dan
To use an On-premises SQL server you will need an On-premises gateway, which requires a P1 license or better. To use CDS you will need a P2 license to design the app and a P1 license to use the App. So yes, premium licensing is reqiured for both of your scenarios. You can use the SQL connector with an Azure SQL database without a premium license. The connector doesn't require the license, but the Gateway does.
Please note that there are licensing changes coming on October 1 that may modify these requirements.
Is the P1/P2 licence a completely seperate thing - do we need 1 of these on top of the E3 licence?
Is Azure SQL available without additional licences under the E3 licence?
thanks!
Yes, P1 and P2 are additional licensing required to use certain features in PowerApps. Take a look at this page for information. Each user who runs the App would need a P1 license to sue the on-premises gateway.

Azure is a seperate license based on consumption. Your organization may already have an Azure account.
Thank you!
