Grandparent Canvas Components

How does one reference the properties of a grandparent or great-grandparent element within a reusable Canvas Component?

 

Example

 

CanvasComponent with OnSelect Behavior Property

   - Container

      - Container

        - Container

          - Button with OnSelect

 

Tried,

  • Button.OnSelect = Parent.Parent.Parent.OnSelect()  >> nope
  • Button.OnSelect = CanvasComponent.OnSelect () >> nope, I thought this should work, like it would auto rename the formula once deployed in an app.

      Not sure if I understand. Are you trying to copy the code from another objects onSelect event into a new component?

    My bad. CanvasComponent.OnSelect( ) works as to reference the grandparent element.

    To fire an event from an element inside a Canvas component you have to fire the event through a behavior property oh the Canvas Component.
