Power Automate & D365 F&O Integration - Flow to alert when a Ledger Calendar status has changed

Hello,

My goal is to build a flow that will alert users when a Ledger Fiscal Period status has changed, on this screen:

I tried to build a flow like this:

It's not working, I believe because of the Business Event being actually a Data Event, and most probably I'm missing something.

These are the Data Event that I focused on:

So I'm wondering what I have to do to make it work.

I tried to check other ways but I couldn't find it also because the OOO solution for Custom Alerts in D365 is not covering this.

Can anyone help me with it?

Best regards,

    Hi

If you set up a Data Event as a Business Event, and in your Flow you should be able to go into Power Automate, make sure its in the correct environment, select the Trigger for D365 E&O and choose the Category and Specific Business Event you set up earlier.

Just looking at what you have, it looks correct to me, but I'd have to review your environment and configurations to be 100%.

Are these legit Data events, I mean like... did you create a dummy one that you can fire off as much as you want to test with? if not, please do that.

The only thing I can think of is maybe, just maybe your environment has some DLP policy that would block it from firing but you wouldn't know.

You probably have this but sharing just in case

Just to help verify if for any reason (DLP, Permission, or other that it wont fire).

I believe its not firing correct? Not that it does and you get an error?

Have you double checked in the Endpoints tab of the Business Events (setup) if your flow has been registered? (System administration > Set up > Business events)

In the past I have seen some instances where the flow wasn't registered properly and simply turning the flow off and on again registered in it properly as an endpoint in the Business events area. Might be worth a shot?

@Expiscornovus, I see the endpoint tab and the flow is registered, but nothing happens. I thought also that maybe I'm using the wrong action to trigger the flow, because it should be waiting for a change in the Ledger Calendar Status here:

@FLMike, the data events are all legit, I'm picking it directly from D365 F&O Data Events section. I don't think it has a DLP blocking policy because we can use the flows with Out of the Box categories in the Connector. Maybe I'm just missing the correct data event for it? Is there an easy way to find exactly which is the table, category, etc, from D365? What I did was just try between those events I showed before and check if one would answer. This is the endpoint tab:

I noticed in your trigger action that you didn't select a legal entity. Have you tried selecting the specific legal entity in your trigger action to see if that makes a difference for triggering the flow?

@Expiscornovus, crazy thing. After lots of testing, I realized that the flow is not triggered when I use the option "Update period status" from the Fiscal Period menu in D365, but if I modify the line directly, it is triggered. OMG! I almost went crazy! Now I need to find out how to manage this...

Update period status is a button to be able to bulk update multiple lines at once, right? That might a difference process than updating an individual line.
