Create a search that will search the whole app

I am looking for a way to create search on my first screen that will search the rest of the app. Is this possible?

Can you elaborate what you mean search the rest of the app?

Are you planning to have a lot of screens with just text? On top of my head I see no way to easily implement a search that searches the rest of the app. Maybe have an excel sheet with keywords and specific screens and then using Search() on this excel sheet.

My app with consist of a PDF reader with guides on one screen and other screens with other information. I'm wondering if there is a way to search all screens on the first initial screen. Is it possible to use one search tool for multiple tables?

Hi @jfyexe,

Please see the syntax for search function in PowerApps:

Search( Table, SearchString, Column1 [, Column2, ... ] )

Table - Required. Table to search.

SearchString - Required. The string to search for. If blank or an empty string, all records are returned.

Column(s) - Required. The names of columns within Table to search. Columns to search must contain text. Column names must be strings and enclosed in double quotes. However, the column names must be static and cannot be calculated with a formula. If SearchString is found within the data of any of these columns as a partial match, the full record will be returned.

From which you could see that for search you need to specify only one table. So if you have different tables to search through, then this is not possible so far I think.
