Hi,
I'm currently studying how to build Gantt chart in Power Apps and wondering if someone has been able to pull it off and how they went about it.
Did you nest the galleries and how did you handle the timeline?

I would appreciate it if you can respond to this post with your approach or suggestions.

Thank you.

    Hello,

Yes, it is possible to build a Gantt chart in Power Apps, and I've created several variations in the past. Unfortunately, due to NDA restrictions with my work, I cannot share those specific implementations.

However, I can share a basic approach that might help:

    1. Use a Vertical Gallery:

      • Each row in the gallery represents a task or project.
    2. Create a Timeline:

      • Use a collection to define a consistent set of dates (e.g., Jan 1 to Jan 30) that will serve as columns in your timeline.
    3. Add Design Logic:

      • For each "cell" (date) in a row, use conditions to dynamically style the background (e.g., highlight active dates for a task). This can be achieved by comparing the date with the task’s start and end dates.
    Something like below.

A more advance version would be replacing the subtable with HTML and use some formulat to calculate the X value and  its width. I hope this gets you start with something.

    Hi MelaninCoded

I would recommend that you download and use the Canviz Gnatt chart control. That would be one of the easiest ways to build a Gnatt chart in Power Apps.

Thank you, @timl and @Cha cha. Both answers are good starting point to get started on building the gantt chart.
In addition, I found this detailed guide posted by @RonLar here on the power platform community (https://community.powerplatform.com/galleries/gallery-posts/?postid=e4a07fa7-862c-4c4c-a031-591f69c9aa0c ).

It essentially uses the foundation @Cha cha suggested and builds on that for an MS Project type results.
I'm going to follow that and go from there.
I hope it helps someone else who is trying to pull something like this off in PowerApps.
