Retiring Power Automate Mobile App

We use the Power Automate Mobile App to run an employee check in/out process using instant cloud flows, that include latitude and longitude coordinates. We see this app is retiring so I have added the new Workflows app to Teams and I see the necessary flows, but the ones with lat & long coordinates only work on iPhones. With Power Automate it works on computers, iPhones and Android phones. Our IT staff have checked all of the settings on both computers and phones, and Teams permission is set to Allow only while using the app, but when we run the flows it says Location services must be enabled to run this flow. We do not have an option on Android to select Always allow for Teams. On the iPhone a pop-up to allow location services appeared if necessary but the Android and computer is not giving an option, just the message about needing to enable location services.

Is using the new Workflows app in Teams the correct solution now that you are retiring the Power Automate app?
Is there a solution to get these to work on the computer and Android phones?

Have you looked into writing a Power App to run in the Power app mobile app and using a Power App trigger in place of the Power Automate manual trigger? The flow should still run exactly as it does today, but it would be triggered by actions in the app instead of the Power Automate mobile app.

Yes, I looked into doing a Power App but it was also said when I researched that you can simply use the new Workflows app in Teams, and then redesign isn't needed to do it in Power App. I still have my 2 questions above, especially why does this work with iPhone but not Microsoft Windows computers and Android phones. You would think it would be the other way and it would work with Microsoft computers but not Apple.

To answer your two specific questions.

1) Teams apps and workflows normally work on a different build of the connectors than native apps and workflows. For example, Dataverse for Teams and Copilot Studio in Teams are both subsets of regular Dataverse and Copilot Studio. I would expect the Workflows App in Teams to be similar. So, No I don't think that is the right approach. I can't tell you specifically why it doesn't work, but that would be my theory.

2) Since using a Power App to trigger the flow instead of a manual trigger will use the current existing flow just like the mobile Power Automate App I would expect it to work just like the current setup. The only redesign involved is to create an App with a button to trigger the flow. You wouldn't even need to change the existing flow since you can use the manual trigger directly from a Power App. It would also help because if the flow still doesn't want to read the location data correctly you could have the app read the location and pass it to the flow. That would require some redesign.

Finally, its not the Microsoft vs Apple computer that is the problem. Its Apple vs Android.

It's not just apple vs android because as I mentioned it also doesn't work on a Windows computer, yet it does from Power Automate on a Windows computer. It seems that something has not been set right by Microsoft which hopefully there is a solution to before they disable the Power Automate app.
