Creating a Flow from a Sharepoint List

Hi,

I am building a flow to be able to automate emails and notifications, when I update a Sharepoint List.

The list has the contact details of my clients, including their email address, and a Status column, with dropdown choices of:

Send Welcome Letter
Send Introduction
Send FAQ's

I would like to send a customised email whenever I click on the Status column and change the status.

Currently, it is sending all 3 emails, regardless of which choice I choose in the column.

My flow is:

Can anyone help me with this flow?

Instead of 3 parallel Conditions you should be using a Switch to select what happens based on the status. That way only one of the messages will be sent each time the flow is triggered.

    @Pstork1

Thank you for your response.  I have just tried that and the flow failed.

    Can you help me further?

Please post the error message you got and a screenshot of how you configured it.  I can try to help if I can see what went wrong.

Can you drop in a screenshot of the switch you configured? As already stated, that is the best approach.

    Hi everyone,

I'm sure the problem is PICNIC (Problem In Chair, Not In Computer), but I can't for the life of me work out where I am going wrong.  And Co-pilot is no help!

I have updated the post to show the error message and the parameters.

(I changed the flow from an email end result to a Teams message, as the emails were taking to long to come through when testing).

Thanks everyone - I look forward to you solving this quicker than me!

Try putting the condition 2 in the if no in condition. That might help...

Can you post up a picture of your sharepoint list as well? Also for your status, double check what you are using, assuming you have that column set to be a drop down versus a free text entry, there might be another column status value or something similar that you need to use instead

I'm assuming that Status is a Choice field. If so then the Status field itself returns an object. So for your switch you need to check against the Status Value, not Status.  There should be another dynamic content field named something like Status Value. That will have the actual choice. What you are using now is an object with multiple properties. One of those properties is the choice.
