Hi All,

From the word document, i want to get the value between Starting Point (SP) and End Point (EP)from given paragraphs.

For Example
Input

Some more paragraph can be here also.
Starting Point (SP) long and short across specialized sub-strategies.
End Point (EP) strategies, which often focus on out-of-favor.

And i want output like
Starting Point (SP) long and short across specialized sub-strategies.

Thanks in advance.
I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

    Try this approach.

For demo purposes- i have created a word file with below content

In power automate desktop- there are word actions which helps to interact with MS Word application and extract the contents. But here important would be how to extract specific text from that complete word content.

see below flow section where flow reads the content from Word file
    1. First it opens the word file by specifying the path

    2. It reads the content of word file using below action

    3. Close the word document instance (if not needed)

Now the variable WordData contains the complete content from word document, now use text actions in PAD which helps to extract the required string/text from WordData using regular expression. see below

Regular expression used under Text to find field- (?=Starting Point \(SP\)).*(?=End Point \(EP\))

Now complete flow looks like below

If you run the bot, you will see the variable match will have required result as shown below (after execution)

    Hope this helps !
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hey

This post actually sparked the idea for a video. I explained how to do it here, if the below post by Nived is not clear for you. Please mark the suggested answers as accepted so others will know that there is a solution to this problem :-)
