Internal data concerns: Create text with GPT using a prompt

Hello Team,

I have used 'Create text with GPT using a prompt' action in a Power Automate flow and before deploying it, I have concerns regarding which GPT service is being used for prompt processing in this action. Is it safe to process internal data with it? does it have firewall within the Company Environment I am using?

    Hi,

Here are some information and pointer to Microsoft documentation:

"Create text with GPT using a prompt / AI Builder prompts" is running on GPT-3.5 Turbo model powered by Azure OpenAI Service.  (source: Prompts overview | Microsoft Learn)

Yes, it is safe to process internal data with it:

    • It complies with our existing privacy, security, and regulatory commitments to our customers.
    • It's architected to protect your data at both the tenant and the environment level.

source: FAQ for Copilot data security and privacy for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform - Power Platform | Microsoft Learn

(as we use same architecture for Copilots and "Create text with GPT using a prompt / AI Builder prompts", content of this FAQ also applies to AI Builder prompts)

Thanks, one more related question. Is this premium action available to everyone with the MS E5 license? some of my colleagues couldn't access it.

AI Prompts uses AI Builder licensing Overview of licensing | Microsoft Learn so requires available credits to create Prompts, and use them in Apps and Power Automate flows. (use in Copilot Studio requires messages)

MS E5 licenses don't provide AI Builder credits. Once acquired, credits sit at tenant or environment level and can be used by any user.

I have created Custom AI Prompt for the Power Automate flow. I can also access it from the AI Prompts in Power Apps. My question is I don't know how I got access to the AI prompt. I am not sure whether I have those credits as you mentioned. Also, does this apply similarly to action 'Create text with GPT using a prompt'. I am considering two different scenarios here. 1- Using 'Create text with GPT using a prompt' action in Power Automate: If it is a premium feature then there would be limitation on scaling it. 2- Custom Prompt within above action: Does this required AI Prompt access in Power Apps. Sorry but it seems we are mixing these two together. My concerns are still the same. Are these two paid services? If they are requiring credits, then how did I get those? Where do I check for these credits?

Yes, AI Prompts in Power Automate and Power Apps, including 'create text with GPT using a prompt', are all AI Prompt feature (see doc),  and are consuming AI Builder credits. Your power platform environment admin can check how many credits you have in PPAC https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/resources/capacity

Documentation : AI Builder licensing and credit management | Microsoft Learn

For scenario 1 and 2, limitation is linked to credit consumption. See documentation about overage in same Credit management page: AI Builder licensing and credit management | Microsoft Learn
