License Question About Common Data Service (CDS) & Power Apps Solution

For example, I am building a project tracking app for a customer now. I have a license of Microsoft PowerApps Plan 2, so I can create this app with Common Data Service on Power Apps, and to add it as a new solution in Power Apps Studio when pulished.

My question is that my customer has Microsoft PowerApps Plan 1 license only, which means that he has no license to use CDS. Can he import my solution into his PowerApps and work correctly?

    Hi @Anonymous ,

Do you want the customer to import your solution into his PowerApps?

Based on the scenario that you mentioned, I think you have some misunderstanding on Microsoft PowerApps Plan 1 license. If your end users have Microsoft PowerApps Plan 1 license, they would be able to access CDS functionality (including Solutions) in PowerApps.

If you want these end users to be able to access CDS in your PowerApps Environment, you must assign proper Security Role (e.g. Environment Maker, System Administrator, etc) of your PowerApps Environment to them.

More details about the Security Roles in PowerApps, please check the following article:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/database-security

If your end users have PowerApps Plan 1 license, they could import the solution exported from your PowerApps Environment into his PowerApps.

More details about the known limits with Solutions in PowerApps, please refer to the following article:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/common-data-service/use-solution-explorer#known-limitations

    Best regards,
