Need for RDP?

We are using desktop flows in unattended mode. Is there a way to use this without having RDP enabled?

Does the cloud flow actually connect or is it all internal RDP connection?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @twriggles24 ,

In Power Automate, desktop flows in unattended mode typically require a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) session to run. Power Automate creates, manages, and then releases the Windows user session on the target devices. The screen of the target machine is kept locked so no one can see the desktop flows running.

However, there’s a workaround suggested by one of my senior where you can use a VNC viewer/server to connect to your host unattended machine. VNC allows you to disable the proxy, making it seem like you are physically on the server to mimic the behavior of unattended mode.

Regarding the second question that is not a Internal RDP Connection.

Thank you, if we were to put firewall rules in place to stop internal and external connections, would the needed mechanism still work?

We want to use PAD but don’t want the server accessible by others. Do you have a guide for the setup and use of VNC?

Thank you, is there a list of IPs used by Microsoft for Power Automate that we can allow RDP?

If you prefer not to utilize your RDP, Power Automate offers hosted RPA machines for running your flow in unattended mode. These machines need your current OS image and access to your network connection.

Microsoft handles the management of these machines, including scaling up and down during peak loads according to demand. This service requires a license called Hosted RPA Process, priced at approximately $215 per month.

Concerning the previous inquiry, Cloud flows operate without the need for a physical machine since they interact with internal and external systems via their API connections. Hence, there is no need for any type of VM.

    Hope this helps!!
