App won't open in Desktop App but will on Web

We have the latest version of the Power Apps desktop app installed from the Microsoft store - v. 3.23122.17.0. One app will not open in the desktop app - it also doesn't return an error. When we click on the app icon, it shows a spinner and the text "opening" - and will continue like this for hours - no error is returned, but the app does not actually open. This reproduces on a number of different machines - a mix of Windows 10 & Windows 11. We currently don't know of any users who are successfully opening the app from the Desktop App.

However, the app opens as expected on the web - so if we go to the web site for Power Apps, we can open the app from there without any issues.

Is there any way to troubleshoot this? To force the app to update on the Desktop App? We've tried the "refresh" button in the Desktop App, but I'm not sure it would refresh apps already listed as "installed".

I suppose we could republish the app and see if that makes a difference. It hasn't been republished in a long time - 3 years - but we have other apps that have also not been republished and they are working.

    Hi @hilary_stoupa

    >> To force the app to update on the Desktop App?

In answer to this question, one thing you can try is to go to Apps & Features > Power Apps > Advanced, and to delete the 'Reset' button. Note that this will delete any apps that have been cached on the device and any app data that's been saved with the SaveData function. However, it will force Power Apps to re-download the app when you next try.

Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately, that did not do the trick. As a side note for anyone else looking for the reset button, on Windows 11:

Settings > Apps > Installed Apps - Search for Power Apps, click the ... menu and you'll find this under Advanced options....
