Is it possible to search for users without using a combo box (and still get the same UI) or alternatively if we search for a user using a SharePoint person field, can I hide the chevron so that field looks like a text field ?

The UI person would like a Text field that works the same as the combo box does but does not want the chevron displayed.

I am sure that I have seen this before and I seem to remember it uses the Startswith command. Our AD has upwards of 30,000 users.

I believe that there is an delegation problem with using lookup and person fields in SharePoint. However, if you had a list of names as single line of text (SLOT) even as large as 30000, you could use a textinput box and a gallery filtered by StartsWith(). Otherwise, you would need to filter the list down (perhaps by department and region), to less than 2k records to be able to use the Filter() function and "in" operator.

Hi @NigelP

I have no experience working with the Outlook connector. I guess the question is whether the search function is delegatable so that all the records can be searched or if there is a limit. If it functions like SQL and CDS, Search is a delegatable function.
