On-Premise Gateway - Files from On-Prem to 365 Best Practice Advice

Hi All,

Very new to Power Automate/Apps.

Background: I have build an app (all working) that does a lookup to a sharepoint list of on-prem data which is imported from an Excel Sheet via. PA (all working).

The current flow is triggered by checking for new files on my personal One Drive. The file gets there via. a Robocopy script which copies from the on-prem files share to a local One Drive folder that is then synced into 365 and triggers the flow.

This is obviously not ideal (I change my pass, the flow dies.

So here is the question, what is the best practice to get an excel file from  a local smb share to the cloud?

I think the answer will be using the on-prem gateway but what would you use in this instance for example use connector with one drive, use connector and post to sharepoint site etc.

Also, if you could give me a starter on a flow to do that it would be a bonus?

Thanks very much for any responses, your input is very much appreciated.
