Barcode Scanner - Newbie - can you scan any external barcode & get info?

Hi all,

Sorry probably stupid question but very new to power apps etc.

Need general explanation.

Can you scan a barcode on a random product (could be anything -  household chemical) and get the batch number and expiry information from it?

Or does this barcode scanner only work for your own company/product/barcodes?

    This feature is not currently available in AI Builder, but the idea has been submitted to the community. You are welcome to vote for it. AI builder support for barcode and QR code detection · Community (powerautomate.com)

     

    For you project I'd suggest to try with encodian Create and Read Barcodes with Power Automate and Power Apps (encodian.com)
