I'm trying to set up a flow that downloads some reports via a web portal. However, when I record interactions on the web page, PAD keeps alerting me that I need the extension, despite already having it.
I've reinstalled the extension, toggled it, and reinstalled PAD, but the issue persists. I'm running two Edge profiles—one for work, one for personal—but I'm not sure if that would cause an issue. I've also confirmed both are set up with the extension and it is on.
Anyone have any ideas?
The exact error is:
You need the Power Automate extension.
1. To use web automation in your flows, select 'Get Extension' to download and install the selected browser.
2.. After installing, be sure to enable the extension in the browser.
When I click 'Get Extension', I'm directed to the extension page which only gives me the option to remove, since the extension is already installed and enabled.
Tried providing the Extenson path .crx file path in my code. it is running successfully but still the power automate extension popup shows again and again.Providing the Crx extension also it did not resolve the issue.
Please provide me with some solution as i am facing this for both Edge and firefox.
@helloAutomate I tried this but everytime I launched Edge, that check box defaulted to unchecked. I think this solution will work if only one Edge profile is loaded.
I however had multiple profiles loaded. After deleting one, I no longer get the prompt to install the extension and it now shows up each time Edge is launched. I've already converted my desktop flows over to Chrome so I'm going to leave them alone for now until MS can sort out what's going on with multiple profiles being loaded. I don't have any pre loaded profiles on Chrome so it should be a better candidate for browser automation anyway.
Hope this helps those who are still having this issue.
i finally solved this issue.
(1) go to the "detail information" in the power automate extension setting, then
(2) check the box "enable access file url"
Sorry if you already received. I keep getting survey feedback requests while trying to respond here.
Dear @saltesc, @ellie5225 ,
I have similar issues for which I raised another question here at the forum at: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Power-Automate-Desktop/Power-Automate-Desktop-UI-element-picker-malfunction-Cannot/m-p/1626202#M14963
My local IT support helped me by reviewing the 'Event Viewer' and discovered some error codes which we think is related. Possibly you could do the same on your side? If all issues/error codes are similar, then we are 1 step further and can possibly target a solution ... or at least ask some pin-pointing questions.
Kind regards,
Koen
I had to do a fresh reinstall of Win 11 the other day and took it as an opportunity to do some clean testing. However, the issue persists.
Based on this, I'm confident my issue is of PAD not supporting Edge's multiple profiles feature. If there is additional configuration that can be done somewhere, I have no idea what it would be.
I did that however still doesn't work.
I am having the same issue. Also can't use any webscraping because of this not able to use browsers. 😞
Try clearing the cookies and history.
Testing in my personal profile, PAD works. The issue seems to be with PAD not getting along with my second Edge profile. Quick bit of searching around and couldn't find anything.
I can use my Personal profile, but it's not ideal.
