Unable to fetch Distribution List owners using Graph API

I have a requirement to retrieve Distribution Lists using a Power Automate flow with Microsoft Graph API, and this part is working as expected.

However, I now need to fetch the owners of those Distribution Lists. I tried using the Graph API endpoint (/groups/{id}/owners), but it is not returning any results for Distribution Lists.

From my research, I understand that:

Distribution Lists are managed in Exchange Online
Graph API may have limitations when it comes to retrieving DL owners

Any suggestions on how to fetch Distribution List owner details?

I, at least, have not found a way to get the owners of a DL using the Graph API. DLs are not the same thing as true groups in Entra ID. However, you can confirm someone is an owner of a DL by passing their e-mail address through the Get direct reports action. In addition to employees who report to the person, it also lists service accounts, ADM groups and distribution lists. When someone is leaving the company, I have a flow to get the list of these so they can be sent to the departing employee's manager for reassignment (Get manager action).

I will be interesting to see if someone has an exact solution to what you're looking for.

I engaged a Codex agent and it delivered the solution.

Power Automate can’t directly run arbitrary PowerShell, so the agent built a flow that triggers an Azure Automation runbook. The runbook uses Exchange Online PowerShell with managed identity to fetch the distribution list owners, then returns structured JSON back to the flow.
