Window action not executed

Hello,

As a beginner in Power Automate Desktop I need help with my flow building. I'm trying to refresh a macro of an Excel sheet that is located in a SharePoint. I recorded the actions that have to be executed (opening Excel, accessing the SharePoint, opening the file and the sheet) but since in Excel online it doesn't show me my macro I have to click on the button Editing > Open in Desktop App.

The action doesn't seem to be executed because I guess that PAD doesn't recognize actions within windows that open after. I was wondering if there's a way to click on a button of a window.

Here is the error message that I obtained as for the execution of the specific action:

(UI element can not be found).

Thanks in advance for your help!

I would suggest downloading the file locally, running the macro via the Excel actions, and then pushing it back to SharePoint. If you have a Premium license, you can use the SharePoint actions to do that.

If you do not, you can use the OneDrive desktop app to sync a SharePoint library to your local machine, so that files will be available as if they were on your machine.

You can then use Copy file(s) or Move file(s) to move it to some local directory, then Launch Excel to open the file and then Run Excel macro to run the macro. Then save and close Excel and move/copy the file back to the directory via the OneDrive app.

This way you will not need any UI automation, so it will be much faster and less error-prone.
