Power BI Connector - Export to File for BI Reports w/ Dynamic Date (Between) Slicer

Hi All,

I have a flow built to export my Power BI report to a PDF that then feeds into a SharePoint list and goes through an approval workflow. The report is a reconciliation of accounts so it is dependent on multiple data sources linked to a Date Table that drives a between Date Slicer to select your period of review. The report will be sent for periods of time so I need the export to consider what the date filters are at the time the button is pushed to export. It seems the natural functionality is for the export to be based on the state of the data when it was published to service last.

In another forum someone had mentioned I need to setup a dynamic parameter for the dates that would replace my current date slicer and that could be referenced for use within the Report Level filters parameter of the Export to File for Power BI action in Power Automate. However, the person couldn't walk me in detail how to actually accomplish that. I don't have much experience working with parameters at all.

All help is appreciated!

Thank you in advance,

Casey

    Thank you @lbendlin!

    Your screenshot makes it seem like this would be static for 3-20-2025 to 3-26-2025 and I would need to update the filter dates within the flow every time before exporting which wouldn't be ideal. Am I interpreting that incorrectly?

    You can put dynamic values there, but make sure they follow ISO 8601 format.

    Do you know how to reference dynamic fields within that context and format?

    For example, I have a measure in BI that represents the Start Date of the slicer range and updates as expected (and a very similar MAX version that represents the End Date). But I don't know how to make that valuable in the format required.

    SelectedStartDate = SELECTEDVALUE('DateTable'[Date], MIN('DateTable'[Date]))

    SELECTEDVALUE has no meaning in an Export scenario. Your filter values must come from somewhere else.
