Condition based on a form answer

Hello-

I am having an issue with this flow.  I want it to look at the answer to the question and if the answer is "New Response" then it would add a row.  If the answer was not "New Response" I want it to update the row. I checked the excel spreadsheet and it shows as "new response". It seems like it is not actually looking at the answer - the flow keeps jumping to the "no" scenario and trying to update a row that isn't there.  Please help?

    Hi @aohman

Your both response is text data type? Try string() expression on both sides of the IF condition to covert to string and check.

    Thanks

    Hello!

I am not sure what you mean - I am a very beginner on this.  I tried to put String() on both sides of the condition.  It won't let me do it on the "is equal to" side.  If I just run it with the string on the right side it still shows the error of it can't find a row to update.

On the left hand side click expression

    type string()

Place your cursor inside brackets then click Dynamic content and map the Dynamic value.

On the right hand side condition under the expression use the below

    string('New Request')

    Thanks

I got the string to work, but it is still not working.

The right hand side is:  String(outputs('Get_response_details')?['body/r3de4e865cae540fd93ad57ca6d743f5c'])

The left hand side is:   STRING('New request')
It is still looking for a row to update.

Try to change STRING() to String(). Do not use the capitals.

Where the error is getting. Looks like you got some wrong mapping here. Expand the IF condition and show me which step you getting the error.

    Thanks

Figured it out! The response had a space behind it string('New Request ') in order for it to match.

    Thank you for your help!

    Hi @aohman

Thanks for letting me know. You can use the trim() expression to truncate the spaces.

    Thanks
