Stop videos from playing when navigating to different screens

Hey all,

I'm in the process of making a educational app informing our users of the benefits of MFA. Within this app, I am using the Tutorial template that is available as it seemed to be the easiest and quickest way to build this app. I have also inserted a few videos that further explain MFA.

I have just discovered however that upon playin the video, when you go to the next screen, the video continues to play.

As the Tutorial template creates the variable _guidestep (value) is there a way to use this as a control to determine whether or not the video should be playing?

Thanks.

    Hi @Dimmy ,

According to your description, I did a test for you.

The strange thing is that when I switch screens, the video automatically pauses..

    Did I misunderstand something?

    Hi @v-xiaochen-msft ,

What I was having issues with was the Tutorial template that is available when you Add Screen > Tutorial

This template essentially has 1 screen but uses the _guideStep variable to determine what is displayed on the screen based of the value of _guideStep.

In this case, a video which I have added has the Visible value set to _guideStep=1

This sets the visibility of the video to only be visible when the _guideStep variable has a value of 1

I later discovered that I can use this same variable for the Reset value.

Since I only wanted the video to play on page 1 (_guideStep=1) I set the Reset value to be the remaining _guideStep values.

eg. If I have a video on page 1 (_guideStep=1) I would want the video to stop and reset on the other pages. Thus the Reset value for the video would be "_guideStep=0 OR _guideStep=2 etc" This would use the value of the _guideStep variable to control when the video would Reset.

Thanks for looking into this 😁

    Regards,

    Dimmy
