Sharepoint Alerts - Power Automate Template Alternative is worthless

I have just tried to create an "alternative" to a SharePoint alert, and the following has really surprised me (in a bad way):
  • You cannot create a flow that has "All changes" (create + modified)
  • The e-mail sent is totally not the same as the e-mail sent by SharePoint alerts (changed columns are just not there)
  • I cannot seem to create a sheduled e-mail with changes since the previous alert.
That said, I cannot seem to grasp that Microsoft thinks anyone in our company will be able to create a Microsoft Flow (mind you: drag/drop can even be difficult, let alone knowing what a Flow means).

I have the same question (4)

Like the replies where you initially posted this, in order to help you, we'll need more information in order to assist you. Using Power Automate to replace the alerts functionality is definitely not going to be as easy as SharePoint alerts, but that is because Power Automate can do so much more than the alerts ever could. Like anything, it will take some effort to learn how to use Power Automate.

At my company, we have found that SharePoint rules can replace about 80 percent of what alerts could do. If you have not tried creating a rule, I would start there. You can get more information on rules at Create a rule to automate a list or library - Microsoft Support.

If that does not meet your needs, I would suggest uploading a screen shot of the current alert you are having trouble duplicating so folks know what you're trying to do.

    I have 2 main issues:
    • The e-mail does not contain all data, the SharePoint alert would contain custom columns and additionally an indication of which columns were changed.
      • The e-mail in the template of PowerAutomate contains only who created the list item and who edited it (and when).
    • As a developer, I am quite familiar with PowerAutomate (Flows), but my collegues are absolutely not (and mostly will not be willing to learn, as they are no IT'ers)
The first one might be something to overcome (however, it would be nice if it would be out-of-the-box, instead of manually editing the flow).  The second one is a big issue.
