Missing Metadata error when updating SharePoint list item using Power Automate

Hello,

I have a Power Automate workflow that is triggered when a SharePoint list item is created or modified.  Also, in the workflow is an Update Item action.  In SharePoint, I have a managed metadata column that is updated from SharePoint, not the Power Automate flow.  In other words, in the Update Item action, I do not provide inputs for this column. When the SharePoint item is updated, SharePoint saves the values for this column.

In SharePoint, I see the following. The "Missing Metadata" tag appears. However, the managed metadata column has values.   It seems after the flow runs, this tag displays.

Please advise on how to fix this issue.  Metadata is not missing, however, this error is misleading which will cause confusion for end users.

Just make the field not required. That will resolve your issue, which isn't really related to Power Automate but to SharePoint.

This issue is not with the managed metadata field but a different field which is required.  I'd realized this when clicking on the SharePoint item and going to Details.  In Power Automate, I set this required field to an empty string so when the list item is updated, the required field is blank.  Thus, the reason for the missing metadata error.  This is no longer an issue.

    Thanks.
