Create file (SharePoint) - cloud connector call failed with status code 'forbidden'

I got the following error when trying to upload a file to a SharePoint site via a Power Automate Desktop flow:

  • cloud connector call failed with status code 'forbidden'

Some additional information:

  • I am using the "Create file" action within the SharePoint group
  • I have successfully completed this step when trying to upload to a different SharePoint "Site Address" within my organization
  • While I can see the intended "Site Address" in my dropdown choice within the parameters, I can not see the navigation of folders within the "Folder Path" parameter. For other "Site Address" options, I am able to navigate the folder path right within the parameter selection. My guess based on this is that I'm experiencing some sort of access/permissions issue for this specific SharePoint site?
  • I have tried manually inputting the "Folder Path", which is what generates the error message above.

As I stated, my best guess is an access/permissions issue within the designated SharePoint site? Any ideas of what permissions may need granted in order to enable this step would be much appreciated!

Yes, that sounds like a permission issue. If possible try to navigate to that folder in SharePoint directly in the web and see if you can upload a file. If you can't you need to get permission from the site owner.  YOu'll need at least Contribute permissons

After some additional digging, it was a permissions issue. The service account I was running the flow on had read-only access to the SharePoint location. After updating permissions, the flow ran successfully.
