When you update a Custom Connector in Power Platform (for example, editing its response schema or allowed status codes like adding 201 Created), the corresponding REST API Tool inside Copilot Studio does not automatically update to reflect these changes.
Even though the connector itself is modified and published successfully in Power Platform, Copilot Studio continues using the older version of the definition. The only way to apply the update is to delete and recreate the REST API Tool or re-import the connector manually.
This behavior can cause confusion when debugging, since the connector works fine in Power Platform, but the Copilot tool continues to return outdated responses or misinterprets status codes.
It would be helpful if Copilot Studio could support either:
automatic syncing with updated connectors, or
a manual “refresh definition” option for REST API tools.
Has anyone found a cleaner workaround than deleting and recreating the tool?
