Why aren't my Galleries able to use a Collection directly these days?

After being away from the Power Apps Studio for a few months, I am back building and discovered some weird behavior that I don't understand.

Galleries are designed to use Tables, Connections and Collections as Data Sources but what I have discovered is that I am no longer able to add a Collection name directly into the Items property.  I was completely surprised as I have done this for many years.  I went back to an older Canvas App that runs fine and there I nested the Collection name into a SortbyColumn function and was able to work around this problem but I am stumped as to what has changed.  Is it a new configuration parameter that now must be set? is it related to the new Modern controls which were just being released into the wild when I put down my tools a few months ago, is it just a new bug that cropped up or is it intentional? is it related to all of the new CoPilot stuff littering the programming interface?  Anyone know what the deal is?

Here is a sequence of screenshots that show it:
Here I create the Collection with a call to a Flow.
Here is the Collection after the call to the Flow:
Here is the simple Properties panel on the Gallery in question.  Notice only Tables and Connectors, no Collections:
Here is Intellisense not being able to locate my Collection:
Here is my workaround where I nest the Collection name in a SortbyColumn function:
Here is the workaround working as expected:

It seems to me that when I last left the Studio a few months ago this wasn't an issue but it certainly is now.

Any suggestions from anyone as to what is going on now?

Thanks,
Mark

I was having a similar issue, where my collection would not show as an option for data.

I got it to work by going into my app settings and turning off New analysis engine.

And then after that is turned off, you have to turn on Collection access in component scope and reload your app.

It looks like there is a way to turn on the Access scope, but I have not found it yet. This should get you up an going though.
