Create a new excel workbook

Hello,

I'm looking to automate the creation of a new spreadsheet daily at midnight within my Sharepoint, with the new spreadsheet filename showing the current date.  I would then like to pull in certain data from the previous day's spreadsheet into the new spreadsheet, based on certain fields.  Could someone point me in the right direction?

    Hi @kg1375,

It seems that you are working with Excel file saved on SharePoint library.

But I am afraid that currently we are not able to get rows from the Excel table in SharePoint library then create a new Excel file automatically within SharePoint library.

There is a similar request on Flow Ideas Forum, please vote the idea at here:

    Best regards,

Thank you for the response.  Two follow-ups -

    1) Is there a 'flow' just to create a new file and not pull in the data?  The creation of the file would be a higher priority.

    2) I am using sharepoint, but could this be accomplished via OneDrive?

    Hi @kg1375,

    For question 1, no.

Microsoft Flow need the actual data (File content) to create the corresponding file.

For you second question, yes. You could switch to OneDrive for Excel.

    Check:

    Excel

    Regards,

    Michael
