Error message when creating an agent (in german)

Since since about December 20th, if I do not use a template, I can no longer create agents or an error message appears and the newly created agents can no longer be opened. If I use a template, it works perfectly.

It works under “Copilot for Microsoft 365” and in BizChat. I have seen the article linked below, but have not found a solution for me.
 
Yesterday I was in a support case, unfortunately without success.  I was advised to post here.
 
Today I found out that the creation works if I change the language from Standard (German) to English (en-US).
 
Does anyone know this problem and is there a solution?

    Can you check if there was any change made recently regarding the permissions? 
     
    Can you check that your default language and region settings in Power Platform Admin Center align with the language you’re trying to use. If German is the default language, temporarily set English to see if this resolves the issue.

    Please excuse any “strange” questions.
    Authorizations:
    I am not aware that I have made any changes to this. Could you guide me as to where exactly I should look?
     
    Region settings:
    When I select Environment > Settings > Product > Languages, the following error message appears as per the picture.
     
    This error does not appear in the development environment. However, I cannot create any agents there either.

    it seems like an error on the environment itself. Too bad that they've closed the support ticket... Would it be possible for you to switch the environment? In fact, creating chatbots in the default environment, which you're using is not a recommended approach.
    You'd need to ask someone who has more privileges on the environment, e.g. admin to help you review your access and languages - both on dev and default. Maybe switching some settings will solve the issue for you.

    The stupid thing about the situation is that I am the admin myself ;-(
     
    In the development environment, the creation of agents is also only possible if the language is changed to en-US.
     
    Found that agents created from scratch are now already assigned to default themes (see image). From my point of view, this was not the case before. These themes are in English, although the language was originally German (de-DE).
     
    Can you give me tips on where to start searching?
    -where to change the language so that en-US appears as default in new agents.

    usually the language that you're creating the chatbot with is choosen here:
     
    I'm not sure if you've created the agents this way and added German instead of English as the first language. The GUI is also shown in German, which points that you have German language defined as the first one in your browser settings - all settings related to the GUI language can be altered from the browser.

    I have made a note of the group. ;-)

    By default target language is de-DE. If this target language is not changed to en-US, no agent can be created. The target language can no longer be changed after creation and appears as the primary language. A secondary language can be added (Settings>Languages>Secondary languages).
     
    German (Switzerland) is stored as the first language in the browser (Edge). I can play a little with these settings and see how this affects the problem. However, that would (only) be a (reasonable) workaround from my point of view.
     
    Regarding the support ticket:
    The process was not very ..... goal-oriented. The ticket can be reopened or a new one can be created.

    Good morning

    I have found out the following things and I am proud of it, because I personally (as an admin and semi-amateur) find the many different settings very confusing. If this wasn't my personal private business version of Microsoft 365, I wouldn't be messing around to this extent.

    I have added myself to the membership for the default environment. Now I can also select languages in this environment, as was already the case with the development environments. In the default environment, I could now select the German language, as is (apparently) the case with the development environment.
     
    Despite an intensive search, I have no idea whether this will get us any further or make the problem worse.

    What is your opinion, should I try this without knowing whether this setting can be reversed?

    And yes, the problem still exists and I've learned a lot from researching it.

    In the language settings, the additional language “German” could be entered with the consequence that all settings are now in German and no longer partly in English. An agent still cannot be created if the language de-DE is selected.
     
     

    If a new environment with region Europe is created, an agent with language de-DE can be created in it.

    If a new environment is created with region Switzerland, no agent with language de-DE can be created in it.
     

    Perhaps this information will help you find a solution.

    It makes sense I guess - they're locking out some languages in certain regions. Maybe they'll introduce de-CH in the future? No idea. :-)

    A Swiss LinkedIn user has contacted me because he has the same problem. In his support case, he received the following response from MS:

    «We have escalated your request to the highest priority level and have determined that the issue is affecting multiple users and is a global bug. Our developers are currently working hard to fix this global issue. Unfortunately, we cannot give an exact date when the solution will be available. However, we will notify you as soon as a new update is available.»
