Azure "OpenAI on your data" not working

Hi,

I am trying to configure "Azure OpenAI on your data" in my Copilot but I can't seem to get it to work. I have tried downgrading the API version and still no luck. The Power App connection appears (although I cannot check the details of it and instead get an infinite loading circle). The response is always blank. It works perfectly in Azure OpenAI Studio. Am I missing something else?

    Good morning,
I hope you are doing well. For the API version, the only one that seemed to work was 2023-06-01- The deployment name is the name of the GPT model in your azure openai. The rest of the parameters seem correct.
Don't worry about not seeing the connection detail, it is "normal behaviour".
Query Type : simple uses a kind of query language (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/search/query-simple-syntax ). Maybe consider changing to semantic or vector (they both need a bit of tinkering in Azure but it's quite easy) ?

    Hope it helps.
    Have a great day.

    Thanks for replying.

I've tried changing the API version and deployment names to the model of my deployment (Tried"gpt-4" and "gpt-4-1106-preview") but still no luck. Have also tried changing it to semantic search (see screenshot).

    Good morning.
Deployment is the name you gave to the model when you deployed it in Azure OpenAI. For example, if I deploy a GPT-4 in my company and name the deployment GPT-4-companyname, I'll have to put GPT-4-companyname in the deployment field. Semantic search needs also to be activated in azure ai search : https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/search/semantic-how-to-enable-disable?tabs=enable-portal

Did you enable it beforehand ?

    Hope it helps

I have changed it back to my deployment name “FlashQueryCopilotEnterprise” (this is the deployment name for my gpt-4-1106-preview model in azure AI Studio). Semantic search has also been applied to the index (free tier). This all works correctly in the ai studio using semantic search (and keyword/simple search) but not in copilot studio.

    Thanks again. Appreciate your help.
