Today I work from home trying to get important things done for my company and suddenly when I open my app powerapps says the app is in read only mode. I cannot change, save and publish the app. Maybe I left the editing window open on the pc on my company yesterday but is this not a bit too harsh of a punishment? Nobody works on my app but me.
Until now I only got warnings about this I could ignore.
How do I get around this?
Oh and btw I I click on "learn more" on the popup I get an advertisement for the new surface laptop.
Maybe it's a virus?
Tried that - didn't work. Clicking override allows me back into editing, but it doesn't allow me to save. I'll try making a copy.
Usually when you get the read-only mode, it gives you a pop-up when you open it to edit to OverRide and edit. so I just close all my browser sessions, reopen in edit mode, and if it gives me read only, I click on the overRide, and am back in business.
This may not be a helpful suggestion if you've already published a previous version for end user access (meaning they have the URL saved). When I encountered this issue in the middle of dev & couldn't wait a whole day+ for it to unlock, I just created a copy and started working off of the copy from then on. Unfortunate workaround, but got the job done in that scenario
I'm getting this issue as well now. It's not allowing saving, restoring and opens in Read only mode. Clearing cache, restarting, using different browser doesn't work. I'm the sole dev on the project. It seems like there is a session open still. Will have to wait till tomorrow and waste a days work. Pretty shoddy for a production tool?
Had the same issue on FIREFOX browser. Closed session and reopened several times. No luck.
Then closed and opened in EDGE e voila I was back in Edit mode.
Have been using EDGE for Power App work since.
Wow, everyone is saying the canvas app is really good and finally I thought to learn it otherwise I might feel my self outdated and get this beautiful issue. So you have to save it and wait for the whole day and the next day just change something else and wait for the whole day. Never ending story.
I was the only maker of an app, and I was experiencing this quite a lot a few months ago. While I was sure I didn't have the app open in more than one browser window/tab, I cleared all cookies for that week, closed all browser windows, and restarted. Still, when I navigated back to edit my app, this still sometimes didn't work, but it's the only strategy I had some success with. I haven't experienced the issue the past month in the US
Hi @HansHeintz ,
The last two days, I have also faced the same issue one way of overcoming this issue was to refresh the entire webpage, If two developers edit the same application in different browsers means one developer must be in the edit mode and the another developer has the read-only mode. From my side, I have opened the same application in different browsers by different emails in(edit the application mode) I faced this issue after I closed one application in the edit mode and refreshed the page in another developer browser.
Now I have permission to edit the application in the refreshed browser.
Some features are experimental versions please follow the official docs https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/canvas-apps/copresence-power-apps-studio.
